KleenMic v1 for Windows

Installation and first call
1. Download the Windows ZIP from https://kleenmic.app. Right-click the ZIP,
choose Extract All, and open the extracted folder.
2. Open KleenMic-1.0-Windows-Setup.exe. Read the warning guidance below if
Windows or your browser asks about the download.
3. Follow setup. Approve the Windows administrator (UAC) prompt and audio-driver
installation when requested. Only approve prompts for this installation.
4. Open KleenMic and select your physical microphone in the Microphone page.
Allow microphone access if Windows requests it, and turn noise cancellation on.
5. With headphones connected, turn Test Mode on and speak to check your processed
voice. Turn Test Mode off before your call.
6. In Zoom, Teams, Discord or your calling app, choose KleenMic Microphone as the
microphone input (or the exact virtual microphone name shown in KleenMic).
Keep your normal headphones or speakers selected as the calling app's output.
7. The window's X hides KleenMic to the notification-area tray; microphone
processing continues. Click its tray icon to reopen it. Use the tray menu's
Quit action when you want to exit and stop processing.

Why Windows may show a warning
This release uses KleenMic's own self-signed certificate. Its signature allows
file-integrity checks but does not establish a publicly trusted or independently
verified publisher identity. Windows may show an unknown publisher or an
unrecognised app warning. A new download also has little reputation. Packaging
it in a ZIP does not remove SmartScreen warnings.

A browser download warning is separate from the Windows SmartScreen prompt that
may appear when you run the extracted installer. Available choices depend on
Windows, your browser and your organisation's security policy.

Continue only if you downloaded the file from the official https://kleenmic.app
website and trust it. You can check the extracted installer's SHA-256 in PowerShell:
  Get-FileHash .\KleenMic-1.0-Windows-Setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256
Compare the result with the installer entry in SHA256SUMS.txt. A matching checksum
confirms the packaged bytes match; it is not an independent safety assessment.
If SmartScreen offers More info followed by Run anyway, those options let you
continue with this file. They may not be available. If Windows or organisational
policy blocks the app, ask your administrator. Keep security protections enabled;
do not turn off Defender or SmartScreen or install an untrusted certificate.

Microsoft explains these warnings:
https://learn.microsoft.com/windows/apps/package-and-deploy/smartscreen-reputation

Requires Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Windows 11 on Arm uses x64 app emulation.
